When the family home on Russell Island was destroyed by fire in June 2015 the family was given many donations including an old set of lawn bowls. Zayah Morgan, now 13, went along to the Russell Island Bowls Club for a few lessons and when that closed for maintenance she relocated to Capalaba Bowls Club where grandfather, Denis was bowling. As a result of this Zayah began bowling with the Capalaba Ladies Bowls Club every second weekend.
In 2016 Zayah entered and won the QLD State U15 girls singles championships.
Zayah continued to play lawn bowls and was recently selected to represent Queensland in the U18 girls team to play three test matches against NSW in QLD on 8th, 9th and 10th July at a venue yet to be advised. As a result of this Zayah has been invited along for a roll up with the Australian Commonwealth Games Lawn Bowls Team at the end of this month.
Zayah is without a doubt a lawn bowls star of the future.
